How to Improve Your Dog’s Daily Diet?- A Handy Guide

Your dog has a healthy appetite, so it’s not difficult to make it eat more or provide it with different supplements. Many of us might not know what and how much we should feed them.

What’s the best diet for your dog? Establishing a healthy diet plan for your furry friend is crucial for their well-being. It allows your pet to lead a longer life and a healthier one free of health complications. On the contrary, feeding your dog anything that is not good for its health could be dangerous. Therefore, a dog’s diet is something not to play around with at random. Your neighbors, co-workers, and relatives probably have a lot of advice. While some of them are worth it, others are highly questionable.

So, with all the information & misinformation circulating, in this article, we’ll answer all your questions about the best dog food for a healthy life and why more is not always better!

Feed a Variety of Ingredients Rich in Antioxidants and Anti-inflammatory Properties:

Supplementing your pet’s diet with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties will help maintain an optimal immune system.

Antioxidants can help to reduce free radical damage and inflammation, which may be caused by exposure to environmental factors such as excessive heat, cold, or sunlight.

Omega-3 fatty acids are also antioxidants that may help to protect against disease.

Introduce Fresh Whole Foods

Plain yogurt is a great way to get your dog’s probiotics to maintain good health. Yogurt contains live bacteria cultures that aid in digestion and increase nutrient absorption.

It is also rich in protein and calcium, promoting strong bones and teeth. Try feeding plain yogurt instead of kibble for a tasty snack that supports healthy digestion.

Chewable for Healthy Teeth

One of the best chewable treats for dogs is bully sticks. What is a bully stick? Bully sticks are flexible, flat sticks that come in various sizes and thicknesses. They can be made from different types of materials, but the main components tend to be beef or pork and some flavoring.

The bully stick chews are very popular because they are easy to digest and can be given to dogs of all ages. They provide the right amount of chew for your pet’s teeth and gums.

They can also help clean teeth, reduce tartar buildup, strengthen bones and promote healthy digestion.

Avoid Gluten

Gluten is a protein in grains such as wheat, rye, and barley. It’s also found in foods like soybean flour and cornmeal. If your pet has a gluten-free diet, it’s essential to be aware of the potential dangers of this ingredient.

Gluten can cause digestive issues for dogs. Dogs with celiac disease are more susceptible to wheat allergies, which can cause vomiting or diarrhea. Other side effects include skin rashes and hair loss.

Gluten is especially dangerous for dogs with gastrointestinal problems because it can exacerbate their symptoms.

Add MCT Oil as a Source of Fat

MCT oil is a fatty acid derived from coconut or palm kernel oils. It is beneficial for humans and can also benefit pets as a supplement.

MCT oil helps dogs absorb fat-soluble vitamins, such as A and D, which they normally cannot get from their food alone. The presence of these vitamins in the bloodstream allows them to function properly.

Do Not Overfeed

While feeding your dog or cat too much food at once can cause digestive issues, over-feeding can cause obesity as well.

This can lead to other health problems for dogs and cats, such as diabetes and heart disease. If you want to avoid this problem, try cutting back on the food you give them daily instead of increasing it gradually over time.*

The Bottom Line

In conclusion, the best way to ensure your pet receives a proper diet is to speak to a veterinarian. After all, your pet’s dietary needs must be taken into account when considering their health, ensuring that they can achieve optimal longevity and good quality of life.

Genius Ways To Make Money As A Stay At Home Parent

Being the parent that stays home to take care of the kids when they are little can be challenging in so many ways. Firstly there are the emotional challenges of always being on call, and having very little adult conversation throughout the day. Not to mention the lack of sleep, or a moment to call your own. Then there are the money worries that are often associated with being a stay-at-home parent. The good news is there are some things you can do about the latter issue. In fact, there are several effective ways to make money why being a SAHP. Read on to discover what they are.

Offer child care services

One of the smartest ways to earn money as a SAHP is to offer childcare services to others. After all, you are already doing this for your own kids, and one or two more won’t make too much difference to your routine!

Of course, it’s worth noting that to start up a childcare business you need to have all the proper documentation in place. This usually means having the correct insurance, background checks, and home checks. Many people that offer this service also like to come up with a curriculum of activities, and learning as well, as this can help set parents’ minds at ease that their child will be getting the best of care while in your home.  It it is vitally important that if you do choose this career path they you ensure you have completed the requisite training for example you would need to research  Early Years Apprenticeships

Find a part-time job that you can do from home

Another option for SAHP is to find a job that they can do from home, and that requires only part-time hours. This then means that they can arrange their work responsibilities around their childcare needs.

Sadly, sometimes finding such a flexible role can be tough. Although, by searching for terms like Part time jobs for retired people you can find things like helping people switch their energy supplier, and so increase your chances of finding something suitable. Indeed, both retired people and SAHP often share many of the same requirements when looking for part-time work that increases their income.

Resell items on eBay

The last option is one that many parents find themselves doing in a smaller capacity anyway – selling items on eBay. Indeed, if you have kids you will have decluttered your home of toys and clothes many times, and likely sold some of these on an online platform to make a little extra cash. However, what many people don’t release is that you can make plenty of money by doing this regularly.

Of course, you don’t have to limit yourself to selling old or unwanted items from around your home as you update it. Instead, you can source stock from garage sales, and charity shops, and even offer to take items from friends and family that no longer want them to sell in your store. You may even wish to invest in a pallet of Amazon returns, which come at a very reasonable price and can make far more than you buy them for when listed and sold separately on eBay.

4 Common Platonic Relationship Mistakes

relationship

Pic Credit: Pexels

Platonic relationships can thrive when there are clear boundaries and expectations established by both parties. Platonic relationships are unique relationships which do not involve romance, but can be even more fulfilling than a romantic relationship.

Platonic relationships are those that aren’t romantic or sexual in nature, but do involve deep connections. These relationships can be fulfilling and even life-changing, but they’re also tricky! Here are four common mistakes people make in their platonic relationships:

Expecting the relationship to be as deep as a romantic one.

Many people who are in platonic relationships expect them to be deep and intimate, but this could lead to disappointment. It’s important to remember that the two people in a platonic relationship don’t share a romantic bond or have the same needs as they would if they were romantically involved.

If you find yourself waiting for your platonic partner to become as intimate as you’d like, you may never be satisfied with that person’s level of closeness. You may also struggle to accept the fact that your relationship isn’t going anywhere romantically and feel like there’s something wrong with it. This could be the same if your entered into a platonic marriage and are expecting it to be something else, This could result you looking for a to end your marriage with the help of solicitors in family law

Not communicating clearly.

One of the most important mistakes you can make in a platonic relationship is to not communicate early.

If you’re dating someone, there are certain things that you need to be able to talk about: what you want from the relationship, whether or not you’re exclusive, how long you’ve been together, etc. It’s also important for both parties to be on the same page about what kind of relationship this is and how far each of them are willing to go with it.

If you don’t communicate early on, then it can lead to a lot of confusion and hurt feelings down the line.

Fearing getting too close.

Fearing getting too close to a person could be a mistake if you’re in a platonic relationship. In fact, it’s one of the most common mistakes that people make. They’re afraid to let their guard down and open up to each other—to be vulnerable and honest. They’re afraid they’ll get hurt or that they’ll hurt their friend, so they hold back. But this can actually end up hurting them more than it hurts the other person, because it prevents them from feeling truly connected to one another.

By keeping your walls up, you keep yourself from getting closer to your friend, which means you won’t experience real intimacy and connection with them. You may not realize it at first, but when you don’t share what’s going on inside you with someone else, you end up feeling alone. And when you feel alone, it’s hard to give yourself permission to be vulnerable with others or connect deeply with anyone at all!

Expecting the relationship to fulfill all your needs.

When you have a platonic relationship with someone, it is important to understand that this relationship cannot replace your other relationships. It can’t replace romantic relationships, family, friendships, or any other activities that you do for yourself. If you are looking for someone who is going to fulfill all of your needs and wants in life, then finding a platonic friend may not be the best option for you.

Surefire Ways of Boosting Mental Health for Mums

Being a parent is difficult, especially when juggling between taking care of your kids, working, and house chores. Caring for kids and being a parent is lovely and brings great joy. However, it also brings its own set of challenges and stress. You ought to figure out things on your own and decide whether something is good or not. Therefore, with everything involved and the stress that comes with managing everything as a mom, it is also vital to keep in mind your mental well-being. The following are surefire ways to boost your mental health as a parent.

Get Enough Sleep

As a mom, you have a routine for your kids’ bedtime. Unfortunately, you forget about yourself. It is essential to ensure you have enough sleep every day. Lack of enough sleep comes with various issues like mood, irritation, fatigue, and stress. Therefore, ensure you also have a bedtime routine and stick to it. Limit screen time hours before bedtime and look for relaxing activities like listening to an inspirational podcast or drinking tea. Avoid smoking or drinking coffee before bed.  I  really  not to drink coffee after 3pm and this is definitely helping my sleep. Admittedly there are days when this is a tougher than others!!

Identify When You Feel Exhausted

You will quickly know how to keep your mental well-being in good condition if you know where the problem is coming from. It is easy to recognize when you are not feeling well but not the things overwhelming you. Being overwhelmed and fatigued causes poor eating habits, trouble sleeping, headaches, anxiety, stress, irritation, negative thoughts, and problems concentrating. So, focus on an issue and see what you can do to mitigate the problem.

Eat Well

The stress of parenting and being overwhelmed with everything you have to do can disrupt eating habits. Your body needs a healthy target to function well. Actually, some foods like processed meat and dairy products with high fats cause anxiety. Therefore, eat healthy foods with real vitamins, minerals, and proteins with the power to restore your energy and well-being. Other foods that can help boost your mental health include walnuts, strawberries, whole grains, lentils, kidney beans, and more. In addition to incorporating nutrient-rich foods into your diet, considering alternative methods to enhance your well-being can be beneficial. Mobile IV therapy in Los Angeles (or any other location) may offer a flexible and accessible option to replenish essential nutrients in the comfort of your own space, which is crucial when you are a busy mom

Take Breaks

Find a way to take breaks from your work. A thirty-minute break can have so many more benefits than you think. Take short breaks for a walk, screen time, meet friends, join a gym or craft class and so on. You can also take a long break and go on a vacation to catch up with other things. Make sure there is someone to take care of your kids.

Talk About Your Struggles

A problem shared is a problem half solved. This is a saying you can apply whenever you have an issue. Never keep feelings or things you are struggling with to yourself. Instead, share how you feel with the people you trust.

There is never any shame is seeking help, if  you did need to enrol in a Mental Health Treatment Program. It provides a safe and supportive space to process emotions, learn effective coping strategies, and reconnect with a sense of self beyond motherhood. With professional guidance and peer support, mums can build resilience, improve their well-being, and feel more confident and balanced in both their personal lives and parenting roles.

It will help you get a new viewpoint of your problems, encourage you to socialize, not isolate yourself, and reduce anxiety. Talking about your struggles will help you reflect on positive things and give you ways to cope.

Limit Alcohol Intake

Sometimes busy moms turn to alcohol to relieve stress and anxiety. How many of us have ever looked forward to “wine o’clock” that hour of the day when the kids are asleep and you can finally get some me time.  However, some end up drinking too much, making it challenging to perform various tasks. Alcohol has a chemical that affects the brain. Too much can affect your mental health and increase depression and anxiety. Therefore, if you have to drink alcohol, ensure you limit your intake and don’t drink daily. One thing I have noticed lately is the much greater selection of non alcoholic drinks. Lots of nice wines, beers and gins available now.

Summary

There you have it- surefire ways of helping you cope with the stress and anxiety of parenting. These tips will assist you in taking care of your mental health. If you have concerns about your health, consider consulting your doctor.

Gluten-Free Pancakes: Here’s Why They Make The Best Breakfast

As more families choose to go gluten-free, you can’t help but wonder if you should start switching out a few ingredients in your own kitchen to go gluten-free, too. There’s nothing wrong with going gluten-free. In fact, there are quite a few reasons that gluten-free pancakes are the perfect breakfast.

Gluten-Free Pancakes Are Delicious

Gluten-free food has a bad reputation for being bland, but it doesn’t have to be.  Homemade gluten-free pancakes taste delicious. Recipes deliver fluffy pancakes, and include the bare minimum of ingredients, leaving plenty of room for creativity to make them delicious. Consider adding these things to the recipe or your breakfast table and watch the kids ask for more every morning:

  • Use almond flour as one of the dry ingredients for sweeter pancakes
  • Top the fluffy pancakes with whipped cream instead of maple syrup (whipped cream usually has less sugar)

  • The oat flour in the flour blend will make pancakes more filling
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil into the wet ingredients for a mild coconut flavor
  • Always include their favorite toppings, like strawberries or organic chocolate chips
  • Use vanilla almond milk as one of the wet ingredients for a sweeter flavor
  • Play with flavor combinations by using flavored almond milk in the wet ingredients, such as chocolate almond milk or chocolate banana almond milk
  • Use coconut milk for thinner pancakes and a touch of coconut flavor

Natural ingredients, such as fresh fruit, are naturally gluten-free. This makes them the perfect topping for pancakes. Add a bit of fruit juice into the pancake batter in the mixing bowl for a delicious flavor and moist pancakes.

Increased Energy

When children eat a sugary, unhealthy breakfast, they are more likely to experience an afternoon slump. That’s why so many children are ready for a nap as soon as they walk in the door. Moms are always on the go, making them likely to feel worn out well before the end of the day.

Gluten is known for causing fatigue, even in individuals that do not have Celiac disease. Simply switching out regular flour for gluten-free flour is a great way to enjoy more stamina, leading to happier moms and children that are less likely to have a meltdown because they are exhausted.

Kids That Eat A Gluten-Free Diet Have Fewer Behavioral Issues

Certain additives, such as food dyes and gluten, are linked to changes in the brain. Not only do they inhibit brain development in certain areas, but they are also behind certain disorders, such as ADHD, various mental illnesses, and temper tantrums.

Both children and adults that have undiagnosed gluten sensitivity are more likely to be irritable, resulting in behavioral issues in children. Looking into their diet is a great idea if you’re usually on the phone with your kid’s school once a week for outbursts.

Increased Focus For The Entire Family

Gluten causes several symptoms that are linked to ADHD, including difficulty concentrating. This leads to children having a difficult time in school and moms consistently forgetting something. The brain fog that is a direct result of gluten consumption can wreak havoc on the entire family.

By switching to a gluten-free breakfast option (such as  gluten free bread), you’re making the choice to help everyone in the family stay focused. Children will perform better in school, and moms will feel less frazzled as the day goes on.

More Nutritional Value Than Traditional Pancakes

When you opt for gluten-free pancakes, you make a healthier choice. Homemade pancakes don’t contain the preservatives and additives that most store-bought pancake mix does. Instead, you and your family will be eating ingredients that are good for you.

Different brands of gluten-free flour offer different vitamins and nutrients. For example, one might have more protein while another may be fortified with more vitamins. When you add gluten-free flour to the mixing bowl, you add more vitamins and nutrients. Make sure to read the nutrition label to make sure that you’re getting the most out of your gluten-free pancakes.

You’ll also enjoy the nutritional benefits of added ingredients. Fresh fruit is packed with vitamins and antioxidants. Almond milk is an exceptional source of vitamin E. Almond flour can help reduce the risk of heart disease and is an excellent source of magnesium. Coconut oil has natural anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.

They Are Convenient

Homemade gluten-free pancakes mix can be convenient, too. Pre-cook them and store them in an airtight container. Then, simply pop them in the microwave for a healthy breakfast on busy mornings. If your child has to bring a snack to school, bite-sized pancakes are a healthy alternative to pre-packaged gluten-free snacks like fruit snacks.

How Do You Handle Being A Witness In Court?

scales of law

Pic Credit: Pixabay

For most people, involvement in a legal case is an inevitability to prepare for. In some cases, it might be a legal case you’re making against someone or defending yourself against allegations. But what about when you are called as a witness in a case, criminal or otherwise? We don’t speak as often about what you should do as a witness, but if you’re feeling nervous or unsure about how to proceed, here are a few tips that can help you feel more confident and sure of what to do.

Prepare adequately

Witnesses are called into court by the legal team representing one or both sides of the case. In most cases, you are going to be contacted by the legal representation and given the date. You should ensure that you take the time to prepare for your court appearance. You might need to take any time off work and you can claim lost income if necessary. You can also claim money if you need to pay for childcare. There aren’t any rules for how to dress in court, but you should try to dress smartly but in clothes that are comfortable, as you can spend a long time in court. If there are any other concerns about reaching or accessing the court, you should contact the building directly to get advice on getting there.

Ensure you’re giving the best testimony that you can

As a witness, your primary responsibility is to answer questions as best and as accurately as you can. You’re not there to give conjecture, to estimate motives, or offer anything other than the facts that you are asked for. It can be tough for people to appropriately limit their own speech to make sure that they’re not saying anything unnecessary or to make sure that they’re recalling truthfully, so it can help to learn a range of giving evidence skills through witness training sessions that are available to you. You won’t get coached on what to say, but you can make sure that you give the statements that you want to give with confidence and ease.

Don’t talk about the trial outside of the trial

Unlike members of the jury, witnesses are not kept within a confidential process. You’re not explicitly barred from talking about the trial but most lawyers would agree that it’s wise not to talk too much about it, especially on social media. Accidentally posting potentially incriminating evidence, painting a target on yourself for harassment, and confusing the trial, are all things that could happen if you’re not disciplined about keeping the process of the trial to yourself. There is, of course, the urge to talk to close family members or friends about it, but you should try to be responsible in everything you say.

Being a witness in court can certainly be nerve-wracking, but it doesn’t have to be something that you should be too worried about. With the tips above, you can make sure that you’re doing your duty, staying legally safe, and avoiding any difficulty.

Knowing Who to Call In Times of Trouble

lady on the phone

Pic Credit: Pexels

Hopefully, life goes smoothly for you and you experience as few hiccups along the way as possible. But chances are, at some point, you will find yourself in some sort of situation where you need help or assistance. This can range from general support to an outright emergency and it’s important that you know who to call for different occasions. There are, of course, countless numbers out there that will put you through to someone useful for a variety of different situations. But hopefully, some of the options outlined below will help you to build your knowledge and protect yourself as best possible down the line.

A Support Network

For minor day to day inconveniences, it’s good to have a strong support network of family or friends around you who will be able to assist you as and when you need it. This could be to vent about work, to ask advice, to ask small favours like being dropped to the airport and more. A good support network will be able to help you with your day to day needs. Of course, you do need to make sure that this is reciprocated and that you’re there for them too!

A Lawyer

If you ever find yourself in trouble with the law, it’s a good idea to make sure you have the number of a trusted, qualified, experienced and dedicated lawyer on hand. Just bear in mind that most lawyers have an area of specialism and will be able to help you with different matters. For example, you may have a family lawyer to help with custody battles or divorce settlements, but Criminal defence solitors for issues with the law and the police. It’s good to have a good choice at hand and saved in your contacts should you need them.

Mental Health Support

Nowadays, we’re growing increasingly aware of the importance of our mental health and wellbeing. We know that a significant percentage of the population struggle with mental health issues at some point during their lives. This is positive, but it’s also important to be aware of the multiple means and sources of support out there. If you ever find yourself struggling, it’s good to know who to reach out to. A good option is your doctor, who will be able to diagnose any underlying conditions and set you on the right course of treatment. Other good options include therapists or counselors, mental health charities, support groups and helplines. There’s always someone out there ready and waiting to listen and help.

Childcare

Got kids? There may be occasions where you need to attend events or activities where they are unable to attend. This is why it’s good to have a reliable babysitter or childminder at hand. Of course, you need to make sure that this is a trusted relative or friend, or a professional who has been background checked and has a good history of childcare.

These are just a few numbers you should have in your phonebook, but hopefully, each will come in useful for you at some point or another!

How to Add A Modern Touch To A Traditional Home

modern sofa

Pic Credit: Unsplash

There is something so charming about getting to live in an older home. There’s a lot of uniqueness to it that modern houses just don’t have. However, it’s understandable if owners feel as if they’re not getting the chance to truly level up their comfort because of the lack of modern features.

Plus, technology has evolved, so wouldn’t it be nice to add some upgrades right into a more traditional home? While home aspects of transforming a home may be expensive, it’s not the case all the time. So, here are some ways that you can bring modernity to a space, so you can maximise the functionality and comfort of your home.

Get a Fireplace

In other traditional homes and modern, there is something about the Classic Fireplaces that just instantly make a homey feel super luxurious. Maybe this is something that you could put into consideration? Fireplaces can now come in a variety of different styles; you could even opt for something like a digital fireplace if you are not (or cannot) make the changes to add a real fireplace. This is the perfect balance between modern and traditional.

Use Smart Home Tools

Fortunately, smart home applications are now adding more value to a home, and there is significantly less installation compared to home upgrades ten years ago. Whether you want smart light bulbs, curtains that can open themselves, or a heated floor, all of this can easily happen. In general, this is a modern touch that makes living at home a little bit more convenient. There are multiple technologies, such as the Google Home Product, and Amazon’s Alex, but so many others too. It basically all comes down to what you’re after.

Try the Minimalistic Approach

Maybe you want to gain some warmth in your traditional home through a more minimalistic approach. This could also be a good idea. The minimalistic idea is a great way to just instantly elevate a space in the first place. However, it’s not for everyone, as some believe it’s colder. But of course, this is just personal preference.

Change Out the Decor

Sometimes, one of the best ways to just completely change up the space would be to change up the decor. This can come in many ways, such as changing your furniture, what is hung up on your walls, and even right down to the flooring.

Replace the Light Fixtures

Light fixtures can be a sure-fire way to change up the space. A lot of traditional homes tend to have the same type of lighting, and it just doesn’t feel all too inviting. While there are plenty of shops selling light fixtures, make sure to pick a thought that can instantly help make the space look better. Plus, you may also want to consider the lighting itself. This not only includes the light bulbs but the placing of the lights all throughout the house. Sure, this can require some extra work but in the end, changing it up can be a major way to change the appearance of your home!

Tried & Tested Parenting Rules For Raising Empathic Kids

Good health, intellect, and happiness are often on the top of parental wish lists when it comes to raising kids. But you must also prioritize teaching them moral values to strengthen their core. Empathy is crucial as it enables your child to feel compassion and gives them the willingness and courage to step and help others. But it is easier said than done because kids are wired to be selfish. Not doing your bit to cultivate empathy in them will make them even more selfish as adults. You can embrace some good practices from a young age to help your kids learn the power of compassion. Here are some tried and tested parenting rules to raise empathic children.

Validate different emotions

child playing sport

Children must understand their emotions and accept that they cannot always stick with the positive ones. Negative emotions are an inherent part of life, and tagging them is the last you should do as a parent. In fact, you must help your kids to build coping strategies to deal with the gray feelings. Validate the positive and negative emotions and encourage your child to process them as it enables them to embark on the path of right.

Avoid shielding

As a parent, you want to protect your children from all negativity, but it is hardly possible. Kids see and hear about cyberbullying, substance abuse, and school shootings every day. But you must avoid shielding them from sad stories in an effort to preserve their innocence. Having open conversations about tragic events and global issues fosters empathic thinking. Engage in meaningful and age-appropriate discussions to plant the seeds of compassion.

Give examples

Besides having open conversations about empathy, you must give relatable examples. Narrate stories, read books, and show movies highlighting the value of compassion. You can even plan a visit to a Carmelite monastery where they can understand the values of Wyoming Carmelites in person. Carmelites devote their lives to praying, charity, and austerity. They can inspire your children to be more empathic and compassionate.

Demonstrate empathy

Parents are often the role models for their children, so you can inspire them to imbibe values by demonstrating them yourself. But it is often challenging to slow down and focus on empathy amid the race of life. As an adult, you may always feel short on time and patience. But you must consciously try staying calm when you encounter frustrating moments. Demonstrating empathy in your day-to-day life makes you a better person and helps your kids develop a sense of right and wrong.

Lead with action

Think beyond demonstrating kindness at home, and step out to lead with action. From random acts of kindness to volunteering to help others, pick thoughtful ways to instill empathy in your children. Ask kids to follow with age-appropriate acts of kindness, such as helping an elderly neighbor by carrying groceries or raking leaves. Encourage them to donate their clothes, toys, and books as it enables them to feel the joy of giving.

Raising empathic kids starts by embracing empathy as a parent. Bring changes within and follow these easy tips to achieve the goal of compassionate parenting.
