With the C word fast approaching, I was delighted to see the Aldi toy event is coming back. It’s in stores nationwide on Thursady 29 October. From previous experience, get there early and know what you want as it tends to sell out quite quickly.  The wooden toys are particuarly good quality and have become a firm favourite in the Mamma Fairy house.

The Mamma Fairy’s list

• 2-in-1 Pop-Up Target Goal €19.99- no explanation needed, for the budding footballers! I have one in my house!!

• Large Wooden Kitchen – €39.99. this is available in Pink or Red. Do note though that the accessories are sold separately and self assembly is required.
• Wooden Toys – €10.99. Classic sets in handy storage tubs. We love wooden toys in The Mamma Fairy house – choices include Wooden Railway, Fruit and Vegetables, Fishing Game, Construction Blocks, Port Facility or Threading Game. (see above pic for some of the selection available)
• Wooden Jigsaws – €8.99 each. -Choose from Frozen, Paw Patrol, Mickey Mouse or Cars

Also part of the event are craft items, which are really useful stocking fillers, im after the:

• Craft Cases – €5.99 – Full of arty tools, selection includes Poster Painting Set, Superset Poster Paint or Superset Finger Paint

For the teeny man in my house, one the following is on the list.

• Sound Board Books €4.99 each. Choices are Noisy Vehicles, Fire Engine, Police Car, Noisy Farm, The Pretty Princess or Here Comes Santa. We love our books in the Mamma Fairy house and for little man the nosier the better.

If you go in for nothing else – I urge you to get one of Aldi’s My First ReadyBed®. We have one and its ideal, its an all-in-one pillow, mattress and duvet. Its really handy for visits to either of the Granny Fairy houses’ and really portable, crucial for us as we travel a bit and with 2 kids in tow space in the car is at a premuim! It comes with in a few options including; In The Night Garden, Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine, Sofia the First or Doc McStuffins. Great value at €29.99.

I will admit I was more than a little excited to see an article I had penned in print! When I started out on this blogging journey I set myself a number of goals, as I do with most things I take on in life and getting an article printed was one of them.

The article features in the Maternity & Infant magazine, “Mummy My Way” section. Maternity & Infant is one of Ireland’s leading pregnancy and parenting magazines and is available bi monthly.

In the article I discuss being a working mum, I suppose when I began writing the article what I really wanted to convey was that I still have the same career hopes, dreams and ambitions as I did before having kids and I know I can still achieve them. Being a working mother has plenty challenges and you really do need to be super organised!

It is my own mother who herself was a career woman that inspires me immensely, she is an incredible support to me and my own family, she minds my boys while I work, she is a shoulder cry on and has also been known to have dinner on the table for me after a long day in the office!! She is incredible and maybe one day ill be half the woman she is.

Don’t forget voting continues in the Boots Maternity & Infant Awards, The Mamma Fairy Blog is nominated for Best Parenting Blog in the ‘For the Family‘ sections.

As a newcomer to the blogging world, what I really wanted was my website to reflect me! I didn’t know exactly what I wanted nor am I very techie therefore I need somebody patient to take me by the hand and help me get a website off the ground.

I literally stumbled across Bespoke Low Cost Web while on Facebook. I thought sure it cant hurt to price it. That I did and I was delighted with the price and went ahead with it. I’m pretty sure I am a tough customer, my lack of technical prowess coupled with a million questions at all hours of the day and night probably wasn’t that easy.

However credit where credit is due, they were totally understanding, patient and most of all were able to decipher the my non techie speak!!!

While I know this is slightly off topic, I just wanted to highlight a good service. If you are thinking of a new website or updating an old one – check them out, details below.
